The Hue City People’s Court convicted the defendant Le Quang Huy Phuong in the first instance – Video: NHAT LINH
On the morning of March 26, the Hue City People’s Court sentenced the first instance of the rape case of a doctor and beat a hospitalized nurse in Hue.
Before that, the trial took place on 2 days 22 and 23-3. Because this is a complicated case, the evidence panel has decided to deliberate for 2 days before verifying the sentence.
At the trial, the presiding judge said that 37% of the forensic examination of the victim’s injuries was completed by the Thua Thien Hue Province Forensic Examination Center, which was unfounded. However, based on the findings of the further evaluation, the test panel agreed to conclude that Ms T. had 31% damage.

Considering that Phuong’s act of beating and injuring Ms. T. is a hooligan, the trial panel sentenced Phuong to 5 years in prison for intentionally causing injury.
Based on the evidence in the case, the trial panel said that Phuong had intended to rape Ms. T. and, at the level of failure, sentenced Phuong to 1 year and 6 months in prison for rape.
Regarding the crime of illegally arresting people, the trial panel said that Phuong deliberately detained Ms. T., did not allow Ms. T. to leave, thereby committing “holding people against the law” . Phuong’s behavior was sentenced to 6 months of non-custodial reform.
Summarizing the sentence, the defendant Phuong had to serve 6 years and 8 months in prison as of September 25, 2019.
