Dak NongMr. Do Van Minh, 49, Secretary of the Lien Ha Communist Party Committee, Lam Ha District, Lam Dong Province, was arrested on suspicion of killing his wife’s nephew, creating a false scene.
On May 10, Mr. Minh was arrested by police in Dak Nong province while he was hiding in Binh Phuoc province.
In the afternoon of the same day, the investigating agency ransacked Mr. Minh’s home and workplace in Tan Ha and Lien Ha communes, Lam Ha district.
Earlier, on the morning of 4/5, people discovered on Highway 28, the section that passes through Dak Som Commune, Dak G’Long District, Dak Nong, the HCM City van was set on fire. Inside the car there is a burned body. The owner of this car is Mr. Do Van Minh.
After the incident, family members realized that the watch and keychain belonged to Mr. Minh. Therefore, a day later, Mr. Minh’s family requested that the body be buried.
However, since the day Mr. Minh was thought to be dead, his nephew Tran Nho Vuong (25, in Dan Phuong Commune, Lam Ha District, Lam Dong) has also disappeared. Between the two nephews earlier, there was a personal conflict.
From the evidence gathered at the scene, the police determined that the car fire had signs of murder, murder, and the creation of a false scene. The victim was identified as Mr. Vuong, not Mr. Minh.
“The cause of the case will be reported at tomorrow’s press conference,” said Lt. Col. Nguyen Tuong Vu, deputy director of the Dak Nong Province Police Department.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Viet Khe, Chairman of the Lien Ha Commune People’s Committee, said that this morning, the town received a notice from the Dak Nong Police about the arrest of Mr. Minh.
Mr. Khe said that, before being the Secretary of the Lien Ha Commune Party Committee, Mr. Do Van Minh used to serve as Chairman of the Tan Ha Commune People’s Committee, Lam Ha District.
Mr. Minh has dozens of hectares of coffee and fruit tree cultivation in the Dak G’long district and in real estate business. Every weekend, she often drives a van to work on the farm, about 200 km from her home. On the morning of 2/5, Mr. Minh drove his car out of the house alone.
