After more than a day in hiding, Nguyen Thanh Nhut (21 years old), biological brother of the person who was “kidnapped” leading to the murder, turned himself in to the police investigative agency.
On November 17, the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department, CSDT, detained criminal Nguyen Thanh Nhut (born 1999, living in Long An Commune, Long Ho District), to clarify the illegal detention.
According to the initial investigation, at noon on November 15, Nguyen Thanh Nhut (Nhut is the younger brother of the “kidnapped”) together with Nguyen Van Tien (born 1991); Nguyen Van Vinh; Nguyen Van Dung (born 1991, living in Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province); Duong Vinh Tien (35 years old, from Dong Nai province) and Nguyen Minh Tuan (real name Tran Le Du Thinh) traveled in a 7 car from Ba Ria – Vung Tau province to Long An commune.
Ms Vo Thi Kim Chi (born 1963, temporarily residing in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province) is suspected of hiring the aforementioned group of people to arrest her daughter, Vo Thi Thuy Hang (born 1991). This group of people arrived, stopped the car in front, then entered the cafeteria using pepper spray to control Ms. Hang and took the car out.
Tran Ngoai Giao (born 1990) heard his wife’s cry for help, so he rushed to the rescue. At that moment, Giao held the iron bar in his hand and stabbed the group of kidnappers. Tuan was stabbed to death at the scene and two others were injured.
After committing the crime, he turned himself in to the police station and was temporarily detained for investigation.
The kidnapping group has 6 people. One person was stabbed to death, two wounded were taken to hospital and two were detained for investigation. The merchant’s younger brother, Nguyen Thanh Nhut, joined this group of people to flee the place, after more than a day in hiding, he went to the police to confess.
According to a local resident, Hang’s mother previously lived in the town, but later moved to Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. Giao and Hang had only been married about two months ago. This relationship is not supported by the girl’s family. According to initial testimony, Ms. Hang’s family did not want their children to live with Giao, so they hired someone to arrest them and take them to Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
