At around 8:40 p.m. on January 3, an accident occurred. There were traffic accidents between a pedestrian and a bus with registration 29B.047.xx, at the Dao Tan – Van Cao intersection (Cong Vi neighborhood), resulting in the death of an elderly woman.
More than 10:00 p.m. the same day, functional forces continued to blockade the place, investigating the cause of the incident and taking witness testimony.
Ms HTT (24 years old, victim’s neighbor) said that the victim was Ms TPH (in her 80s, living in Thuong Tin, Hanoi City, who rents a room in Yen Phu neighborhood, Hanoi district by Tay Ho).
According to Ms. T., the victim was a street vendor, at the time of the incident, Ms. H. was crossing the street to get to the meeting point waiting for Ms. T. to pick him up.
“Before the incident, Ms. H. called me to pick her up at the inn, but when I arrived, there was a heartbreaking incident,” Ms. T said.
According to the Cong Vi District Police, the bus driver in the case was taken to the Ba Dinh District Police General Investigation Team for further clarification.
Currently the cause of the incident is being verified by functional forces.
