Buses running on Le Trong Tan Street, Tay Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District suddenly caught fire, more than a dozen passengers jumped on the night of September 11.
The bus was on fire, passing the West – An Suong bus station, driven by driver Truong Van Luc (36 years old) from Tan Ky Tan Quy in the direction of National Highway 1A. When the Le Trong Tan – Nguyen Do Cung intersection, about 2 km from the national highway, the roof of the car suddenly caught fire, with a burning smell causing panic in more than a dozen passengers.
“I heard the passenger in the back yelling ‘fire, fire’, looking back I saw that the fire was burning. I quickly stopped the car and opened the doors for everyone to run down,” said driver Luc, suspecting a shock electrical.
Then the fire spread to the seats in the center of the car. Many residents brought about 20 mini fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Almost a dozen firefighters and fire trucks in Tan Phu district, about 1.5 km away, rushed to the scene, pulling water cannons to extinguish the fire.
The fire for about 15 minutes has burned many rows of seats, cars covered in black smoke. Passengers are supported by the bus staff for the next trip or take the Grab bus to continue their trip.
