About being sued by Mekolor Joint Stock Company (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) before the ICC Court of International Commercial Arbitration claiming € 20 billion, Barclays Long Island Limited (Barclays Company, based in London, UK Kingdom) said the past 25-2 sent a letter to the court about the lawsuit.

Considering that Mekolor Company was established by Dr. Vo Xuan Truong and Dr. Tran Cong Doan with the aim of focusing on promoting economic development and improving income for investment individuals and companies, Barclays Company accepts a loan to Mekolor Company.

On May 12, 2020, Barclays Company signed loan and investment agreements with Mekolor Company. The € 20 billion loan in the form of a foreign company loan is not guaranteed by the Government of Vietnam (self-pay loan).

After Mekolor Company completed payment of SWIFT issuance and connection costs through Arisara International Company Limited (Thailand) appointed by Barclays Company, Barclays Company requested that Deustche Bank AG in Frankfurt (Germany) execute the transfer order of € 1 billion under the contract with Mekolor Company.

However, after that, Barclays Company received information that the Mekolor Company account had not been registered with the previous money transfer transaction.

According to Barclays Company, this company worked with the SWIFT system to trace the source of the money and was informed that the Barclays Company deposit was received by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).

Barclays Company confirmed that it requested Duestche Bank AG to properly implement the 1 billion euro transfer procedure on 4-6-2020.

In addition, Barclays Company believes that documents proving its investments run the risk of being misused. This seriously violates global financial standards and affects the reputation and assets of the company.

Barclays Company proposed to the ICC Court of International Commercial Arbitration to add units such as: SWIFT, SBV, Vietcombank, Duestche Bank – Ho Chi Minh City branch … to join the lawsuit for the real that is relevant.
