The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said United Airlines Flight 328 crashed shortly after taking off from Denver, Colorado, International Airport to head for the city of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The flight has a total of 231 passengers and 10 crew members.
According to United Airlines, all passengers and crew got off the plane and returned to the Denver airport terminal.
“We are arranging a new flight to Honolulu for our customers in the next few hours,” United Airlines said.

The FAA said it is working with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSB) to investigate the case.
Police in the city of Broomfield, Colorado, shared photos of the debris from the Boeing 777-200 above and there is no record of casualties on the ground.
Some videos distributed on social networks also recorded black smoke and fire coming out of the engine of this plane.

Broomfield Police announced on Twitter: “If you find the debris, please do not touch or remove it. The NTSB wants all debris in place for investigation.”
Photos released by police showed large debris strewn outside a family home and a field, including a part of the plane’s engine housing.

According to Reuters, the damaged 777 has been in operation for 26 years and uses Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. The investigation will focus on finding the cause of the failure in the aircraft’s engine and finding out if the propeller was damaged.
Boeing declined to comment on the accident.
In February 2018, another old United Airlines Boeing 777 arrived in Honolulu with an engine problem and landed safely.
