This afternoon, October 23, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quyet, Chairman of the People’s Committee of the Hoa Hop Commune, said that the bodies of two local inhabitants who went to the forest were found washed away by the floods.
Before that, on the afternoon of October 22, the Hoa Hop Commune People’s Committee received news from the families of the victims saying that there were two people in the area, Mr. Dinh Hong Duan (SN 1975, resident in Tan Loi Village) and Mr. Nguyen. Ba Ngoc (SN 1970, resident of Lam Hoa village) went to the forest in Ba Ren area, Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province from October 4 to now and has not been in contact for 5 days.
The local government entered the Ba Rang forest area to help bring the bodies of 2 victims home.
Immediately after that, the Hoa Hop commune authorities mobilized 20 people with relatives of the two families to immediately go to the mentioned location to search.
After more than 1 night of searching, with the guidance of Mr. Nguyen Ba Thin (Mr. Ngoc’s younger brother, he went to the forest with 2 victims, but due to fatigue, he returned), at 8:30 am on 23 October, the bodies of 2 victims. It was found in the Ba Rang forest area.
Navel water has been drained from the Tan Hoa flood.
Currently, the leaders of the Minh Hoa district and Hoa Hop commune are organizing forces to help the family bring the bodies of the two victims home and be buried in accordance with local customs.
It is known that the families of the two previous victims belong to the almost poor households of the commune and their lives are very difficult.
As for the flood situation in Quang Binh, until today (October 23) the flood water has receded a lot. According to statistics from the area, some 2,000 homes are still flooded. The flood also killed 11 people and injured 95.
