On the afternoon of August 31, the Covid-19 Special Permanent Division of the Ministry of Health in Da Nang City reported the death of a Covid-19 patient. This is the 34th case of Covid-19 death since the epidemic occurred in Vietnam.
The patient who just died is Covid-19 case number 1040 (BN 1040), a 55-year-old male, located in Hoa Vang, Da Nang city.
The patient has a history of septic shock, respiratory distress in the patient with Guillain-Barré syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, severe depression.
The patient was three times negative for SARS-CoV-2 on days 1-8; 9-8 and 14-8.
On August 27, at 5:00 p.m., the patient’s sample was taken for the fourth time; At 10:00 p.m., due to the worsening of the underlying medical condition, the patient’s family asked to go home to prepare for the burial. Almost 2 hours later, the patient died at home.
Diagnosis at hospital discharge: circulatory respiratory failure, septic shock in a patient with Guilain Barre syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, severe exhaustion.
On August 28, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic season until now, Vietnam has recorded 1,040 Covid-19 cases. Of which 695 cases were cured, 34 died.
