The diagnosis of retrospective death was Covid-19 pneumonia with progressive respiratory distress, septic shock in a patient with a history of Guilain Barré syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and severe depression.
On the afternoon of August 31, “patient 742”68 years old, in Hai Chau, Da Nang city, was confirmed by the Ministry of Health as the 33rd death in Vietnam.

The cause of death is diagnosed with severe pneumonia, progressive respiratory failure due to Covid-19, complications of septic shock, irreversible multiorgan failure, myocardial infarction in patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, diabetes mellitus. type 2, chronic kidney failure.
On August 29, Vietnam recorded two deaths from Covid-19, one of which was only 28 years old, the youngest case of Covid-19. The remaining deaths occurred between the ages of 33 and 93, of which 20 had underlying chronic kidney failure.
As of this afternoon, the total number of infections is 1,038, the number of people recovering from the disease 663. So far, there have been a total of 690 cases of infection in the country, of which the number of cases related to Da Nang from July 25 is 550.
Of the patients undergoing treatment, 40 had tested negative for nCoV once, 48 were negative a second time, and 27 were negative a third time.
Regarding the clinical status, currently 13 cases are serious, of which 6 cases require invasive ventilation, 3 cases of artificial lung intervention (ECMO).
