One lucky person escaped in a landslide but broke his legs

As a lucky man who escaped death in the landslide, Mr. Le Dinh Minh (in Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam) said that at the time of the landslide a group of people were moving from Tra My TT (Bac Tra My District) goes up to H. Also buried in the landslide, but fortunately escaped, said Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hung (Binh Giang Commune, Thang Binh District) in a shaky voice. “At that moment, the rock rushed downward and pushed me and the others. Along with one person that I tried to crawl, the other broke my leg. Another person was pushed down by the rock and dirt, so there was nothing he could do about it. We are powerless ”.

As a direct witness and return from the landslide, Pham Khang said that on the evening of November 11, he was on his way from Bac Tra My to H. Nam Tra My to do volunteer work.

When he reached the Tra Tan commune, Khang saw about 10 people using machetes and chainsaws from downed trees and joined together to clear the road blocked by landslides for passing vehicles. At that time, the water flowing from the mountain was very strong, the mountain was showing signs of further eroding, so Mr. Khang and some people gave a warning.

When everyone was trying to clear the way, many others were waiting near that area when the mountain shook and collapsed in an instant. “Seeing that, I could only tell everyone to run, then flee together to escape the dangerous place,” Khang said.

After regaining consciousness, the people returned to the scene to see if anyone was in danger, they heard a cry for help, but they were inaccessible as the mountain continued to fall. One resident tried to find people in distress, but had sunk halfway that he couldn’t move.
