Thuc’s case is typical of today’s rural labor force. There are many young people in rural areas who skip the apprenticeship to go to the city to find simple jobs with immediate income.
According to 2019 statistics, the labor force in rural areas represents 66.6% of the national labor force. Today’s rural youth have xu direction out Urban job search is simple, carries many risks, has no long-term future.
Today has 67% of the unemployed are unskilled workers. It is a huge waste of social resources. Meanwhile, the market needs workers with vocational training, but society has not met that demand.
At the seminar, the experts also pointed out that in the near future society will face a great challenge when workers doing simple jobs in industrial zones are laid off. If a professional profession is not promoted, updated and studied, the possibility of unemployment is very high. Retraining this force is an ongoing problem.

Mr. Do Nang Khanh, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Professional Education, said: “The origin is the career direction, then the deviation. I must honestly say that the current career direction is not good.
Abroad, career guidance is the responsibility of the school, teachers know them every day, they direct them to the need for social careers, what trends are they, they evaluate their appropriate skills for what profession from that gives advice.
Also in Vietnam today many of you choose the wrong job, which costs a lot of resources for society. We have established the flow of labor for a long time but it has not yet been implemented.
Since the Vocational Education Act was enacted, tuition fees for lower secondary education than middle school have been waived, so the tuition for vocational training has changed. In the next period, it is necessary to increase the proportion of young people who follow vocational training. “
Mr. Le Duc Thinh, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that the current agricultural sector is constantly changing, workers in this area face many difficulties in choosing a career.
“Currently, in addition to transferring knowledge to employees, the training group must pass on market knowledge, management knowledge and beliefs and aspirations to rise,” said Thinh.
