Meanwhile, at Khanh Hoi port, the city’s Urban Railways Board of Directors and related units are also preparing to receive the first train.
After the ship arrives at the port, it will take approximately 2 hours for units to lower the wagons and load them onto specialized vehicles for transport to Depot Long Binh (District 9).
The first 3-car train, which was brought back to the country after a period of interruption from the COVID-19 epidemic, marked a very important milestone in the advancement of the No. 1 metro project, a key project that awaits the inhabitants of the city. .

Metro line 1 has a total of 17 trains, including 51 cars. The maximum design speed 110 km / h (aerial section), 80 km / h (tunnel section), can carry a total of 930 guests, including 147 seats and 783 standing passengers.
The HCM City Urban Rail Administration Board said that after the ship docked at the port on October 10, the subway train would be transported to Long Binh Depot by specialized vehicles.
The travel route will be from Khanh Hoi port via Nguyen Tat Thanh – Ton Duc Thang – Nguyen Huu Canh – Nguyen Co Thach – Mai Chi Tho streets – Hanoi Highway – Highway 1 – 400 – Hoang Huu Nam – Highway 11 – Long Binh Deposit
Subway Line 1 is 19.7 km long, from Ben Thanh (District 1) to Depot Long Binh, with a total investment of more than VND 43.7 billion. The work has 14 stations, including 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations.
Currently, the entire line reaches almost 76% of the workload and is expected to reach 85% by the end of this year. Ho Chi Minh City expects this project to enter commercial operation by the end of 2021.
