Before Typhoon No. 5 landed, Quang Ngai Province tried to communicate with all ships and boats in all waters. On the afternoon of the same day (September 16) there were 42 boats / 243 people who could not be contacted. Currently, the guard station and border guard station in Sa Ky (Quang Ngai) port are trying to contact the aforementioned fishing boats and fishermen.
According to the Quang Ngai Province Rescue and Information Command Office, the province’s fishing vessel still operates in the sea areas with 1,141 vessels and about 9,000 employees.
On the afternoon of September 16, Mr. Dang Ngoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, sent documents to towns, departments and branches to respond to Typhoon No. 5.
Consequently, the Quang Ngai Province People’s Committee requested that as of 1:00 p.m. on September 17, all ships and boats should not go to sea, not even means of transportation from the mainland to the Ly Son island and vice versa.
