Male driver Nguyen Van Hien (32 years old, from Nghe An) was prosecuted, arrested and detained for 3 months to investigate violations of traffic regulations. Hien was the driver of a truck, causing a serious accident that killed a girl on November 23.

As the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported, at around 8:40 pm on November 23, Nguyen Van Hien was driving a truck on Dien Bien Phu Street towards the Hue Crossroad overpass. At the intersection with Nguyen Duc Trung Street, the traffic light changes from green to red.

At that time, Hien deliberately let the car go through a red light and then collided with a motorcycle driven by Ms. Dao Thi Lanh (SN 1994, a resident of Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province), who was waiting ahead.
The collision caused Ms. Lanh to be trapped under the truck, dead at the scene. The motorcycle was dragged more than 50 m to stop.
Through the investigation, driver Hien admitted that he was transporting rubble from a construction project at low prices to the landfill at the Khanh Son landfill (Lien Chieu district). At the intersection above, Hien was impatient to go fast to transport a lot of goods, so he let the car pass a yellow light, changing lanes without observing, leading to Lanh’s tragic death.
The Thanh Khe District Police Investigation Police Department quickly consolidated the file and detained Nguyen Van Hien to investigate and clarify the cause of the above-mentioned traffic accident.
