According to Decree 98/2020 / ND-CP, if the portable iPhone does not have enough invoices and legal documents, merchants will face a large fine.

Decree 98/2020 / ND-CP issued by the Government not long ago officially entered into force as of October 15, 2020. Consequently, commercial activities, production, trade in counterfeit and prohibited goods and people who trade in contraband goods will be subject to a fine of 500,000 to 50 million VND, depending on the value of each type of goods. For offending organizations, the fine could be doubled.

Decree 98/2020 / ND-CP clearly establishes that it will be sanctioned for goods that do not have import permits, do not pass through the specified border gates and do not carry out customs procedures.

Furthermore, imported goods that circulate in the market without invoices or attached documents or with invoices or documents but illegal invoices and documents are also penalized.

Portable iPhone loses its selling price advantage

It can be seen that as soon as the above Decree is applied, the mobile market in Vietnam will experience a lot of turmoil. Over the years, cellular phones in general and portable iPhones in particular have become familiar items to many people.

Starting October 15, mobile iPhone dealers should be careful: 1

If portable iPhones don’t have enough invoices and legal documents, merchants will face huge fines.

Portable products are significantly cheaper because they are not subject to import taxes and fees. Also, this product tends to appear very early.

For example, in the case of portable iPhones, stores can bring them back to Vietnam on the first day that Apple sells devices to the world. Meanwhile, for original products with VN / A code, users will have to wait around 1 month to be able to buy equipment.

However, it is a fact that most of the portable iPhones sold in Vietnam do not have any invoices or attachments. This means that trading this item after October 15 will violate Decree 98/2020 / ND-CP.

“With the advantage of the sale price and the anticipated delivery time, the portable iPhone has established itself among users who love Apple products. However, when the new Decree is applied, the portable iPhone will have to incur more taxes and import fees. That makes them lose their competitive advantage in price, ”said Le Xuan Tinh, representative of a phone store in Le Hong Phong Street, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

Will the laptop disappear?

With the loss of the price advantage, the portable iPhone will become less attractive in the eyes of many users. However, according to many store owners, these devices will not be able to disappear in a short time.

Many store owners said that the portable iPhone will not disappear in Vietnam any time soon.

“The sale price is only one of the factors when users decide to buy a portable iPhone. For example, if you want to experience iPhone 12 sooner, users will be forced to search for portable products. Of course, the sale price of the iPhone this year will be higher due to many factors. However, that is not enough to discourage users, ”said Hoang Giang, owner of a long-standing iPhone store in Cau Giay, Hanoi.

Giang also added that many customers prefer to use iPhones originating from the US (LL / A code) or Singapore (ZA / A code) because they believe they have better quality and durability standards than with machines in Vietnam.

In fact, the portable iPhone business in recent times is not as public as before. Many stores have completely removed the word “portable” from the name of these machines. Also, several other stores “play tricks” when they call them “genuine iPhone” with machine codes in the laptop market.
