Indian and Chinese soldiers patrol the border area.

According to The Quint, last week, an Indian lieutenant and his teammates patrolled the area near the 5,000-meter-high Muguthang Pass, encountering Chinese soldiers.

This is one of the critical points for sovereignty disputes between the two countries with a border of 4,000 km. A Chinese soldier said, “This land is not Indian territory … Go back.”

Born into a family with a military tradition, his grandfather was an officer serving in the air force and his father was an army colonel, the young Indian lieutenant could not control his temperament, according to the Indian media.

“Sikkim is not our territory? What is it? “Replied the Indian lieutenant. When a Chinese major invaded the patrol from the Indian side, the young lieutenant intervened, hitting the opponent in the face, according to the Indian newspaper.

According to sources, the Chinese major fell and dropped his name tag, while his Indian teammates intervened to arrest the young lieutenant. Approximately 150 Indian and Chinese soldiers later participated in the fight, injuring 4 Indian soldiers and 7 Chinese soldiers.

Officers praised the actions of the Indian lieutenant, even Indian Army commander Manoj Mukund Naravane wanted “to see directly who the boy was.”

Currently, the young lieutenant has been assigned another mission outside of the stress area. An Indian officer in Sikkim told The Quint that “it shouldn’t take the issue too far, the Chinese side would be ashamed.”

The father, a retired colonel, declined to comment in the media because “he did not want to affect his career.”

The young lieutenant has reportedly just graduated from the army school in Bangalore, wants to join the army and be part of the Indian army staff since 2019. The lieutenant’s family has 3 generations of service in the army. Local pine in West Bengal is particularly interested.
