The latest report of a landslide at the top of Ong De on October 28 buried 55 people, an increase of 2 people compared to before. Of which 33 people survived, 22 were missing. Hundreds of people and bulldozers digging throughout the area found eight bodies and 14 people were missing.
Explaining the increase in the number of victims, Dung said that a family of 5 was buried. In which, the couple escaped, 3 children were missing. Following the disaster, the couple found a child to be buried on the mountain. On the afternoon of October 31, they returned to the village, announcing that there were two children left.
In the early afternoon of October 28, a mountain landslide in Village 2, Tra Van Commune, Nam Tra My District, killed 8 people. On the same day, in Village 6, Phuoc Loc Commune, Phuoc Son District, 11 people were buried in the mountains, 5 bodies were found and 6 disappeared.
The search for the number of people in Phuoc Loc was carried out by local forces, inaccessible abroad due to landslides that caused traffic congestion.
Due to the influence of the Molave storm combined with the strong east wind, Quang Nam province had very heavy rains from October 28 to 29. In the two mountainous districts of South Tra My and Phuoc Son, there were many landslides that killed 21 people and 20 disappeared. Many communes were isolated due to landslides on the roads, inaccessible vehicles.
