On the afternoon of October 16, the Funeral Board of Military Region 4 and Thua Thien – Hue Province announced the funeral program for 13 officers and soldiers who died while going to rescue the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric plant.

The vehicles brought the bodies of officers and soldiers to the funeral home at the 268 Military Medical Hospital in the city of Hue.

According to information provided by Thanh Nien, on the afternoon of October 12, the delegation of officers and soldiers from Thua Thien Province – Hue and Military Region 4 of 21 people prepared to enter the area of ​​the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric power station. (upstream of the Bo River, Phong Xuan Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien – Hue) to rescue and rescue the victims of a landslide at the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric power station.

Heading into an area with a deep roar on Highway 71, cars could not pass, the rescue team left the car and entered the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric plant, about 13 km away. Around 9:00 p.m. on the same day, due to heavy rains, running water, slippery and dangerous roads, the delegation had to stop to rest at the house of the forest protection station in subarea 67, the basin from the Bo river. At approximately 24 hours on the same day, a mountain landslide occurred that buried the rest house, causing 13 officers and soldiers to have an accident, only 8 people escaped from the area of ​​the landslide.

After more than two days of searching, the competent forces found 13 bodies of cadres and soldiers who participated in the rescue of the landslide in the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric area and took them to the funeral home of the Military Hospital. and 268 (Hue City, Thua Thien – Hue) to organize funerals
