In his telegram, Putin wished President-elect Joe Biden success and expressed his confidence that Russia and the United States, two countries with a special responsibility for global security and stability, really do. We can join hands to solve many problems and challenges facing the world, despite the differences between the two countries, “the Russian news agency Sputnik quoted the Kremlin statement as saying.
“President Putin emphasized that cooperation based on mutual respect between Russia and the United States will not only serve the interests of the two countries, but also the world,” the statement added.
Joe Biden was named the winner of the United States presidential election on November 3. In late October, President Putin said he did not congratulate Biden because “procedures must be followed based on established legal standards and practices.”
