The investigating agency also prosecuted and arrested Vo Thi Kim Chi (53, temporarily residing in Ba Ria – Vung Tau) on charges of illegally arresting people to investigate the role of the mastermind in the case. At the same time, he prosecuted 5 other defendants, including Nguyen Thanh Nhut (21 years old, resident of Long An commune, H. Long Ho – son from Vo Thi Kim Chi) for the crime of illegal arrest of people. Nhut was released on bail to investigate.
According to the suspects’ initial testimony, Chi hired a group of people to kidnap his daughter with an advance of about 10 million dong. His son Nguyen Thanh Nhut was also directly involved, leading the group of kidnappers. . On November 15, Ms. Chi hired 6 people in Ba Ria – Vung Tau to the commune of Long An, District Long Ho to find and arrest her daughter Vo Thi Thuy Hang (29, who lives in the District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City). More than 10 o’clock on the same day, this group was present at the Tam Giao Cafe (An Hiep Village, Long An Commune) of Tran Ngoai Giao (Ms. Hang’s husband).
At the store, this group controlled the pepper spray, dragging Ms. Hang to the car parked in front of the store. Hearing the sound of his wife screaming, Giao ran to the rescue and fought with the group of people mentioned above. Giao used a sharp metal rod approximately 1.5m long to stab one of the people killed at the scene, and two people were injured. After committing the crime, he is assigned to the police to report the case and detained for investigation.
Vinh Long Provincial Police arrested the people involved. Nguyen Thanh Nhut, Hang’s younger brother, fled the scene and then surrendered.
