The Central Inspection Committee suggested that the Politburo and Central Executive Committee consider the possibility of expelling Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung from the Party.

Mr. Chung was also identified as violating the regulations on what Party members must not do, negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization and himself.
Based on the Party’s regulations on the discipline of Party members, the Central Inspection Committee proposed to the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee to consider the expulsion of Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung from the Party.

Earlier, in early August, the Politburo suspended the activities of the Party Committee, the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and suspended the post of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee with Mr. Chung. The Prime Minister also decided to suspend his work with Mr. Chung to verify, investigate and clarify Mr. Chung’s related responsibilities in various cases in accordance with the law.
Before Mr. Chung was brought to trial in the “appropriation of state secrets” case, the Ministry of Public Security said that two other cases Mr. Chung was involved in were the case of Nhat Cuong and the purchase of inoculants for water treatment.
