Earlier, on August 8, during the review of the appeal of Ho Duy Hai’s death sentence, the Supreme People’s Court’s Council of Judges rejected 17 appeal points from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and said that the appeal is illegal, there is no basis for canceling the case, to re-investigate the Ho Duy Hai case.
Immediately after the Supreme People’s Court Council of Judges ruled against the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (57 years old, mother of death row in prison Ho Duy Hai), Ms. Ho Thi Thu Thuy and Ms. Nguyen Thi Len (Aunt Ho Duy Hai) who had been seeking justice for Ho Duy Hai collapsed and wept outside the court door.
