President Trump told Chinese reporters to ‘ask China’ about Covid-19

At a White House press conference on May 11, CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang asked President Trump why he viewed the Covid-19 tests as a global competition.

“He has said many times that the United States does it much better than other countries in terms of evidence.”

“Why is that important? Why is it a global race for you if Americans still lose their lives every day?”

“And do we still have new cases every day?” asked a reporter of Chinese origin.

The President replied that it was a question that Ms. Jiang should address in China:

“People are online all over the world. And maybe that’s the question I should ask China.”

“Don’t ask me, ask China that question, okay? When you ask China that question, you can get a very unusual answer.”

After being invited to another journalist to surrender, Ms. Jiang continued to ask why Mr. Trump had left that question to himself.

Earlier, President Trump once commented on journalist Jiang’s Asian background.
