The Deputy Prime Minister shared Vietnam’s proactive and timely efforts to respond to epidemics with the aim of prioritizing people’s lives and health. With high political determination and social consensus, Vietnam has implemented comprehensive mandatory isolation measures, tracing contacts and expanding effective tests and treatments.
Vietnam has also implemented many measures to support companies, people, especially workers, the poor and the vulnerable, so that no one is left behind. With these efforts, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that until now, Vietnam had basically controlled the disease with less than 300 cases and no deaths.

In order for the international community to respond effectively to this pandemic, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Pham Binh Minh made 4 specific proposals. First, to strengthen international solidarity and multilateral cooperation with the central role of the UN and the World Health Organization (WHO); strengthen the effectiveness of WHO’s activities to ensure the capacity to support developing countries. In his possession, Vietnam will contribute to this effort and will be ready to provide “Made in Vietnam” medical supplies and equipment.
Second, improve the exchange of information, experiences and research results; Ensure that everyone has access to vaccines and medications.
Third, request that activities that affect epidemic response efforts be stopped, especially to end unilateral and powerful acts contrary to international law; endorse the UN Secretary-General’s call for a global ceasefire and lift sanctions that weaken countries’ ability to respond to pandemics.
And fourth, develop a post-Covid-19 development plan with a focus on coordinating policies and measures to stimulate economic growth, trade and investment, stabilize financial markets, and restore confidence. of companies and people.
The Alliance for Multilateralism, founded in April 1919 by Germany and France, is an unofficial network and open framework of countries agreeing on the role and contribution of multilateralism to the approach. it is to support international agreements and standards, expand the role and contribution of multilateralism to adapt to the new context; reform the functioning of multilateral mechanisms towards efficiency, democracy, transparency and accountability. The Union does not have a fixed membership mechanism, mainly countries of the European Union and some countries from other regions. Vietnam is not currently a member of this Union.
