The Ministry of Health on the afternoon of December 17, said that during the day, Vietnam registered 2 more cases. COVID-19 New (BN1406-1407) quarantined immediately after entry into Bac Lieu (1), Phu Yen (1). Specifically:
– Case 1406 (BN1406) registered in the Bac Lieu province: Male, 39 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province. On the 12th and 12th, Myanmar patients entered Can Tho airport on isolated flight VJ2735 in Bac Lieu province just after entry. The test results were negative, the first time from 13 to 12, the second time on December 16 at the Center for Disease Control of Bac Lieu province, positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently the patient is isolated and treated at the Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital.
– Case 1407 (BN1407) registered in Phu Yen province: female, 27 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Gia Lam district, Hanoi. On December 8, patients from Dubai entered Cam Ranh Airport on flight VN88, isolated at the Phu Yen Province Border Guard Command immediately after entry. The first 10-12 negative test results, the second time on December 14, are suspected of being infected with SARS-CoV-2, and the third time on December 16 at the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute they tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at Phu Yen Provincial General Hospital. Previously, this flight had 5 positive cases for SARS-COV-2, isolated in Phu Yen province.

So far, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Vietnam is 1,407 cases, of which 693 cases are caused by domestic infections, the rest are immigrants immediately quarantined. Currently, the number of people in close contact and entering from the epidemic area under medical supervision (isolated) is 18,084.
During the day, the country had 11 more patients who were declared cured (BN1300, BN1321, BN1359, BN1293, BN1345, BN1320, BN1312, BN1310, BN1301, BN1337, BN1302), increasing the number of cured cases to 1,263 cases. The number of deaths was 35.
For the past 16 days, Vietnam has not detected any new cases of Covid-19 in the community.
