Due to the lack of money, the group asked Tuan Anh to loan his iPhone 5 and connect it to get money to buy “weed”. They brought the phones from Tuan Anh to promise 200,000 VND, they took money to buy 4 cigarettes wrapped in “herb” to use.
On the afternoon of November 27, 2019, Tuan Anh invited his friends to go home to steal chickens to sell and salvage his phone, but failed.
Because she was afraid her mother would know and cursed for bringing the phone to “plug it in”, Tuan Anh went to her grandmother Ly Thi Nu’s house (SN 1937, who lived next door to the defendant’s house) and asked for 200,000 VND.
Upon returning home and watching her sleep, Tuan Anh called and asked for money. Ms. Nu said she had no money and told her to bring the knife she borrowed earlier. Angry that he couldn’t borrow money, they asked him for a knife, Tuan Anh had bad intentions.
The defendant searched for a bur but could not find it, so he had already prepared a long metal bar. Waiting for him to fall asleep, around 3pm the same day, Tuan Anh went to bed and crashed into his head.
Due to the beating, Ms. Nu woke up, sat up and said, “She lost there.” Tuan Anh ran out the door. Fearing that she would tell everyone the story of the beating, the defendant returned, continued to use the metal bar to beat the grandmother on many occasions, until the victim was immobile.
The defendant also took the blanket over her grandmother’s nose and mouth and hugged her tightly so that Ms. Nu could die out of breath. After committing the crime, the filial nephew ransacked her pocket to look for money, but she did not have a blanket, she put it on the victim’s chest and then went home to ask a friend to come out.
At approximately 6:30 pm on the same day, Ms. Nu’s daughter-in-law found her mother-in-law lying on the bed with her face purple, trying to shake her but she couldn’t, so she ran to call Mr. Do Huu Tam, Tuan Anh’s father to come check.
At that time, Mr. Tam discovered that his mother was dead, there were several cuts on the skin on her body. Thinking that the old woman fell and died, the family took over the victim’s funeral.
The next morning, the commune police received word that Ms Nu had died suddenly and there were many injuries to her head and hands, so she went to the Soc Son district police for an investigation. . From here I discovered the heartbreaking truth.
Belated tears
In court, when explaining his behavior, Tuan Anh blamed drugs. Having said the last word, the defendant apologizes to the doctors. “Due to his young age, the accused does not realize it, so he committed the aforementioned behavior.
I hope you forgive me, I hope the Panel gives a sentence to the accused so that one day he can return. I hope you accept the accused as a grandson ”, were the last words of Tuan Anh.
The victim’s representative also asked the Panel to consider giving the filial grandson the opportunity to return to the town and start his life over.
