On the afternoon of November 29, Mr. Ta Thanh Tinh, Director of Highway Administration III.3 (Highway Administration III, Vietnam Highway Directorate), said that construction units were exceeding the landslide point moderate. It happened on the Nha Trang – Da Lat route.
According to Mr. Tinh, due to prolonged heavy rains, around 17:00 on November 29 on Highway 27C (often called the Nha Trang – Da Lat route), a landslide point appeared at Km60 + 590, belonging to Khanh Vinh (Khanh Hoa).
It is estimated that around 2,000 m3 of soil and rock have fallen to block the road surface at the previous location. So, for the moment, vehicles cannot go through this area.
Road Administration III.3 also provides the Department’s hotline number 0906419641 so that people can call and ask for help when they have problems.
The Nha Trang – Da Lat route was more than 120 km long, including more than 30 km of dangerous passes, with many hairpin bends, high cliffs and deep pools. In the area near the top of the Hon Giao Pass, located at an altitude of 1,500 m above sea level, there is often fog. In the last months of the year, when the rainy season floods, this route often produces landslides.
