On March 19, the ship John Midgett (WHEC 726) with a red and yellow flag on the signal tower was towed from a ship repair shop in Lake Union, City. Seattle (Washington state, United States). After leaving Lake Union, the ship sailed alone over Elliott Bay and reached Puget Sound, home to a port for the US Navy and Coast Guard.
Looking at photos and clips shared on social media in Seattle, the helmet has yet to paint the new number for the Vietnam Coast Guard.

After anchoring in Puget Sound, the ship is expected to be delivered to the Vietnam Coast Guard soon.
Prior to that, in mid-January 2021, John Midgett was towed to Lake Union to the aforementioned boat repair shop to refurbish some equipment prior to delivery. The remodel lasted more than a month during a time of blizzards and frosts in the United States.

John Midgett is part of the Hamilton patrol boat built in the late 1960s, it has a large tonnage and a long voyage (3,250 tons, a range of 22,530 km). The US Coast Guard has 12 such ships and has gradually phased out, provided aid, or sold cheaply to various countries.
The latest is the Douglas Munro (WHEC 724) in service in Kodiak, Alaska, whose last patrol ended on March 16. According to the announcement by the United States Coast Guard, this ship will be officially classified on April 24. Some information says that the ship will be transferred to the Vietnam Coast Guard.
If this information is correct, then the Vietnam Coast Guard will receive 3 US Hamilton-class patrol boats, including Morgenthau (now CSB 8020), John Midgett and Douglas Munro. Previously, there was information that Vietnam asked the US to transfer 3 ships of the Hamilton class.
