New carbon dioxide declined in the US.

The wave of VOC infections in the US appears to have cooled off as new infections in the past 7 days tended to decline across the country.

According to New York Times data from February 5, the average daily case in the US peaked on January 8 with nearly 260,000 new infections. As of February 3, this number was 136,422 cases, 47% less than the peak.

Several regions of the US, including the upper Midwest, are experiencing a sharp decline in new CoV infections compared to other locations. Four states in the region – Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa – found that daily infections dropped by at least 80% on average.

The places where cases have declined sharply are mainly small-scale seeds, which have a relatively low total number of cases. The data cutoff of roughly 600 counties, where at least 100 daily cases were recorded at the peak of the epidemic, showed an average 60% reduction in cases.

New cases of nCoV were found to be most pronounced in the Midwest region. In Hennepin County, home to the city of Minneapolis, daily new infections have dropped from 1,200 to 200. In Wayne County, where Detroit is located, new infections have similarly dropped, from 1,200 to 220 cases.

However, even as nCoV cases are currently on a downward trend in the United States, some regions are still seeing a rapid increase in cases compared to the epidemic peak experienced last year.

In the state of Maine, for example, it recorded a relatively low number of new infections last November, but the numbers rose steadily until they peaked in late January. But Maine’s cases still lag far behind some of the other major epidemic regions in the US, with only a third of all infections in Texas.

In upstate New York, areas outside of New York City weren’t as affected by the pandemic as they were last spring, but have faced a severe wave of Covid-19 this winter.

Experts say that when assessing the Covid-19 situation in the United States, it remains to be seen if nCoV strain variables, which are emerging in some regions, are causing an increase in cases. The strain that was first registered in the UK was detected in more than half of the 50 US states.

Furthermore, vaccination is also an important factor, since as more people are vaccinated, the infection rate may decrease. Both Covid-19 vaccines approved in the US require two injections, but studies have shown that even one injection can increase the ability to protect people from the risk of infection.

According to data from the real-time update site World Ometers, the United States is the world’s largest epidemic region with more than 27.2 million infections and more than 467,000 deaths caused by nCoV.
