The Daily Mail revealed that United will retire goalkeeper Dean Henderson, after the loan agreement with the Sheffield United club ended on June 30. The Old Trafford team has no plans to sell the 23-year-old goalkeeper, nor will Henderson let Henderson continue to contribute to Sheffield United.
Dean Henderson plays extremely well at Sheffield United
MU realized the danger Sheffield United could bring to the race to win tickets to the Champions League next season. If Sheffield kicks 29 rounds as MU and wins the match, they will have one more point than MU, and only two points from Chelsea’s fourth position.
Dean Henderson is rated the most impressive goalkeeper in the Premier League this season. As of 29, David de Gea had only 8 clean sheets for MU, and Henderson helped Sheffield United clean 10 times despite Sheffield United playing less than 1 game. The number of goals conceded by Sheffield United is just 25 after 28 games played, the second-best only behind Liverpool, which Sheffield has to play more defensively than pitch like Liverpool.
In terms of the amount of clean sheets, Dean Henderson is currently only lost to Nick Pope, who has 11 clean sheets for Burnley. With this achievement, Dean Henderson has the same number of clean sheets with Alisson Becker and Kasper Schmeichel and more than the rest.
Dean Henderson had an incredibly brilliant 2018/19 season. Henderson kept 21 clean sheets at Sheffield United last season, a feat that helped him maintain a clean sheet rate of nearly 50% in all competitions. Meanwhile, De Gea has only 7 clean sheets and conceded 13 more goals than Henderson, despite playing 8 fewer games.
MU does everything possible to return to the Champions League next season
De Gea faced 174 shots on target in 38 Premier League matches, while Henderson’s number was 152 times, however the English goalkeeper had a 73% rate of preventing success, while the number of The Data De Gea’s are only 69%.
Calling Henderson to replace De Gea not only promises to help MU solve the goalkeeper problem, but also helps to eliminate a major player from the opponent in the Champions League ticket race. So there is no reason why MU did not.
