After 10 months as permanent undersecretary of the City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (51 years old) was elected Da Nang’s secretary for the 2020-2025 term.
According to the results announced by the organizing committee of the Da Nang Party Committee Congress on the morning of October 22, along with the title of Party Secretary, Da Nang also elected two Party Committee Deputy Secretaries, Mr. Le Trung Chinh (51 years old) and Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet (44 years old).
The new Executive Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee has 51 people, of which 14 join the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, a native of Hai Phong, has a Juris Doctorate, has held many important positions in the prosecution industry, such as Head of the People’s Prosecutor’s Office of Hai Phong City; Director of the Institute that exercises the rights of prosecution and trial of appeal of the Supreme People’s Court in Ho Chi Minh City; Chief Prosecutor of the High Level People’s Prosecutor’s Office at HCMC; Deputy Director of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office; Secretary of the Commission of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office for the period 2015-2020.
On the afternoon of December 31, 2019, the Central Organizing Committee announced the Secretariat’s decision to rotate Mr. Nguyen Van Quang – Deputy Director of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office, joining the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and maintaining the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, 2015-2020 term, replacing Mr. Vo Cong Tri to retire.
Nguyen Van Quang is considered “well-trained, highly qualified, with innovative thinking, scientific working methods and experienced in Party building.” Speaking when he took over as undersecretary, he vowed to learn from his predecessors and to dedicate himself to his work.
His predecessor, Mr. Truong Quang Nghia (62 years old), was assigned a new mission by the Politburo yesterday after the Congress.
In the period 2020-2025, Da Nang City strives to increase the total social products of 9-10%; per capita income reached $ 5,000 to $ 5,500.
