Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai continued to add a medal to his collection after completing the 42 km marathon in Ha Giang province.
Appearing at the finish line, Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai, former Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) yesterday completed the 42 km marathon that took place in Meo Vac district, Ha province Giang.
This is not the first marathon Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai attended. He had to work very hard to finish in the time allowed to win the medal.
Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai is one of the 60 athletes registered for this longest distance. More than 300 other athletes who made it to the Marathon in Ha Giang only logged shorter distances, such as 21, 12 and 6 km.
Before that, Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai had to get up very early so that the same other athletes could move to the starting point at the top of the Ma Pi Leng Pass.
After that, the athletes followed the path of Happiness through the communes of Pa Vi, Meo Vac city, Can Chu Phin, Lung Pu, where they were famous for the Tinh Khau Vai market. He then ran back to the Central District Stadium.
The entire distance with a length of 42 km, with winding passes and passes through ethnic minority villages. In 42 km, up to 30 km it is very steep and you have to go up, down. The rarefied air in the highlands also makes the athlete unable to breathe.
Doan Ngoc Hai also gets up early to run tens of kilometers a day. That is also the way for him to be healthy enough to participate in the previous marathon.
Many locals were surprised to see Doan Ngoc Hai in a track and field sports suit running through the streets where they lived.
According to Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai, this is a very difficult track even for him, a man who has attended many marathons.
As of July 2020, Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai is one of nearly 2,000 professional athletes and movement participating in the National Marathon Championships on Ly Son Island. Many people recognized Mr. Hai from the moment he was at Ly Son on 3/7.
Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai registered to compete at a distance of 42,195 km and completed this challenging race within the prescribed time of 6 hours, to receive a medal from the Organizing Committee.
