Biden said incumbent President Donald Trump should speak out accusing Russia of being behind the cyber attack. This is something Trump has yet to do, even though Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense William Barr have done it, according to the Reuters news agency.
In contrast, Trump once accused China on Twitter of being behind a massive cyber attack that targeted more than six US government agencies and affected thousands of American companies.
“The massive cyber attack is a serious risk and continues to happen. I see no evidence that it is under control. The attack occurred during Trump’s term when Trump. Did not monitor the situation” – blamed Mr. Biden.
Dealing with this massive cyber attack will be one of many issues Biden will have to deal with immediately after taking power in early 2021, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic loss from the pandemic.
Earlier, the next administration’s White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, said that Biden’s response to the cyberattack would be even stronger than sanctions. The Biden administration is considering punishing Russian finances.
The Kremlin denies having had any role in this massive cyber attack.
Additionally, Biden said his administration will promote another COVID-19 bailout package in 2021 after Congress approved a $ 900 billion bailout package this week. Biden said the new rescue package should address the problems of vaccine distribution, unemployment and support businesses, …
In another development, Reuters quoted a well-informed source as saying that Mr. Biden elected Connecticut Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona to be Minister of Education in the next government.
Cardona is a veteran teacher and education administrator, a choice that coincides with Biden’s campaign commitment to leave a teacher in the charge of the minister of education.
