The girl’s naked body was found in a field on September 14.
In an interview with NDTV broadcast on September 30, the victim’s mother said: “We were working in the fields and they took my daughter. At that point, I cut the grass and she cleaned it.” I didn’t see my daughter, so I screamed and looked, then I found one of them. There was a drag mark nearby. I followed her and saw my daughter naked, with blood dripping from her mouth. I can’t speak, the tongue is cut out. “
The woman added that they were evicted from the local police station when they came to file a complaint. “We went to the city of Hathras and then to the city of Aligarh. My daughter could not speak, so they did not accept the complaint of gang rape,” shared the mother.

When the victim died, the Uttar Pradesh state police hastily cremated her late at night against the family’s wishes and did not allow them to see their children for the last time.
Families, relatives and villagers have tried to stop the police when they arrive at the funeral home, begging the police to hand over the body to take home before the funeral takes place. However, the Hathras city police ignored him. Some women pressed against the hood of the ambulance to stop, but to no avail.
The police also beat the women and some others when they tried to stop the girl’s cremation. “We even locked ourselves in the house because the police were chasing us and wanted to take us away. We were very scared,” said the mother.
According to the victim’s family, the police initially accused the girl of “lying about her injuries.” They took the case of intentional murder and only added the rape charge about a week after the incident. On September 29, a senior official said the rape had not been confirmed and that they were awaiting a forensic report. It was reported that although the girl’s injuries were serious, the patient was not quickly transferred to a larger medical facility. The girl later died in a hospital in New Delhi.

Amid the surge in public outrage that followed the aforementioned brutal rape, Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that a three-member council had been established for the investigation, to submit a report within seven . day.
According to Adityanath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for “the most severe penalties for suspects.” The four men have now been arrested for gang rape and will also be tried for murder.
