According to Colonel Binh, the Ministry of Public Security was assigned by the Government to build an investment project to install surveillance cameras, order and control traffic and handle administrative infractions, the Traffic Police Department is the main unit.

According to Colonel Binh, the current investment capital for surveillance camera systems comes from many different sources. Including the capital invested by the Ministry of Public Security for the Department of Traffic Police and the Local Police; o projects invested by the Provincial People’s Committee and then transferred to the Police for management and administration; or some localities rent equipment to companies …
At present, camera systems in cities are mainly stopped at the level of observation of infractions (stop illegally parking, not obey the lights …) or accidents, crimes on the street. Meanwhile, an installed road or highway camera can automatically observe and control speed, thus detecting infractions and finding the main cause of the traffic accident.
“We install different systems, but if we do not have a unified address, connectivity and the system are very difficult” – said the deputy director of the Traffic Police.
According to Colonel Binh, the Traffic Police Department will install cameras on roads and highways. Department leaders are going to conduct a survey, for now, the chamber will be covered on Highway 1A.
In particular, the Traffic Police Department will study and inform the superior at the time of implementing the Law for the Management of Administrative Offenses (modified) to increase the coercion of the sanctioning decision, avoid the situation of violators due to non-compliance.
Previously, the Traffic Police Department only knew that the camera installation project was not only implemented on highways like now, but also expanded on key national highways.
When the surveillance camera system is fully installed, the main task of the traffic police is to patrol, regulate, command the delegation and deal with traffic accidents. The traffic police only configure latches to detect and handle violations that the camera cannot detect, for example, alcohol, drugs, excess load …
The Traffic Police Department will also propose a regulation in the process of building new roads and highways, requiring the contractor to build surveillance camera systems. Installation from the ground up will reduce many stages, costs, and can be exploited early, providing many benefits.
