In this project, PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corporation PVEP – a member of PVN contributes 40% of the joint venture capital to do business with Venezuela Petroleum Corporation. The project has a total investment of more than 1,800 million dollars for the first phase of 2010-2015. PVEP has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in this project. In 2013, the implementation of the project was suspended under the direction of the Prime Minister in a Notice dated December 2, 2013 from the Government Office.
Regarding this case, in early September 2020, the Government Office sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Finance the opinion of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on the July 2020 conclusion of the Inspector of the Ministry of Finance. with PVEP. The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Finance to propose solutions for PVEP to perform well the assigned tasks for sustainable development.
Confirm with Ho Chi Minh City Law On October 2, Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, General Director of PVEP, said that this unit had received the conclusion of the previous inspection. Regarding the official letter from Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Mr. Viet said it was a dispatch reiterating what must be done to implement the inspection conclusion.
