Heavy rains combined with overflowing hydroelectricity and power generation caused many areas downstream of Quang Nam province to submerge, resulting in landslides and isolated mountain districts.
On the morning of December 1, the hydroelectric plant announced the downstream water discharge rate, of which in the Thu Bon River basin, Song Tranh 2 hydroelectric power was 2,174m3 / s water, discharged over the spill and generated 2,280m3.
In the Vu Gia river basin, including three hydroelectric plants A Vuong, Dak Mi 4 and Song Bung 4 that regulate over spillways, generating 1,138 m3 / s.

According to the Quang Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Station, due to the influence of the intensified cold air combined with the strong east wind, this town has heavy rains.
In particular, the southern districts of the province have relatively high rainfall of 110 to 210 mm. 377mm Bac Tra My District, 458mm Nui Thanh District. Many districts of Quang Nam province, downstream, such as Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc, Dien Ban… were very flooded.
In the Duy Xuyen district, the water overflowed on many roads, causing the division of many communes. A series of isolated villages and hamlets in the country had to be transferred by boat.
People have to place furniture and goods, evacuate the elderly and children to mountainous areas to ensure safety. This district has organized forces in many places to warn and prevent people from crossing the flooded area.

In the city of Tam Ky, more than 600 people have been relocated from low-lying areas to safe places. Many roads in the Phuoc Hoa neighborhood were flooded up to half a meter.
Phan Dinh Phung street near Tam Ky market turned into a river, the market was also flooded a lot. Small businesses had to put their products on high and business lagged.
In Hoi An, the roads along the Hoai River are flooded almost a meter deep. Floods here are predicted to continue to rise and drain slowly, due to heavy rains and Song Tranh 2 hydroelectric power upstream is regulating spills.
In the Bac Tra My district, on the afternoon of the same day, it had stopped raining, but the flooding from the mountains poured in.
The bridge over the Truong River was flooded almost 3 m deep, dividing the route to the communes of Tra Giap, Tra Bui, Tra Tan and Nam Tra My. The district has moved nearly 2,000 people at risk of landslides to safety.

In Phuoc Son district, the DH1 route in Phuoc Kim commune added a major landslide causing the road to Phuoc Thanh and Phuoc Loc communes to split again. There are also many other landslide spots on this route.
During the last month, these communes have been divided due to many landslides, blocking roads. Functional forces are trying to clear the way, now adding new landslides.
Currently, the functional forces have stopped rehabilitation activities to ensure the safety of the construction units.
