In Huong Son Commune, since the last half month, the people of Ho Village (Huong Son Commune, Huong Hoa District) have lived with anxiety and insecurity when they heard the horrible explosions coming from Ta Bang Mountain.

Every time they heard explosions in the mountains, people from Ho Village (Huong Son Commune) ran out of their homes in panic.

After that, the villagers went to check and found that the hill next to the village was covered with a large patch and many cracks appeared on the hill.

Mr. Ho Van Chinh, a resident of Ho Village (Huong Son Commune, Huong Hoa District), said that at 3 pm on 11/11, the people of Ho Village suffered a heart attack when they repeatedly heard loud explosions coming from the mountains. surrounding the village.

“The blast was loud like a bomb. After the blast, there was an avalanche of dirt and rock. Running into the creek, all the ground and trees were washed away,” Chinh said.

Mr. Ho Van Lieu – The head of the Ho village said that people are very confused and worried. Every time an explosion occurred, the house seemed to vibrate.

“From the moment of birth to the present, for the first time in the village of Ho there were explosions in the mountains and landslides like now,” Lieu said.

People resettlement plan

After receiving the news from the people that cracks appeared on the top of the mountain, the Huong Son Commune People’s Committee set up a team to verify, found that on the top of Ta Bang Mountain there were cracks with a length of about 200m, the gap 20-50cm.

Faced with this situation, from October 28 to 29, the Huong Son Commune authorities urgently transferred 32 households with 165 people located at the foot of Ta Bang Mountain, in the dangerous area, to a safe place. At the same time, the Huong Son Commune has proposed to the Huong Hoa District People’s Committee to take measures to stabilize people’s lives for a long time.

According to a leader of the Huong Son Commune People’s Committee, a landslide occurred in Ho village and there was a loud noise.

Up to this point, the Ho village area in particular and the Huong Son commune in general are still divided because the roads are collapsed, many bridges are washed away by floods. Previously, the Huong Hoa District People’s Committee reviewed, made statistics and proposed superiors to support the construction of resettlement sites for 220 households living in 5 communes with high risk of landslide, including: Huong Son, Huc, Huong Phung , Huong Lap and Huong Viet.

On November 9, the Quang Tri Province People’s Committee ordered the province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to lead and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies and the Huong Hoa District People’s Committee to organize emergency relocation. from 45 households with 171 people in RaLy – Rao Village, Huong Son Commune, to a new safe place.

These households living at the foot of Ta Bang Mountain, where a crack of about 200 m long is taking place, have a very high risk of landslides.
