A group of 6 people, including 4 doctors, were sentenced to prison for harvesting organs from patients in southeast China.

According to the Thepaper.cn portal, 3 out of 4 doctors are assigned to buy organs in the hospitals where they work. The court in Bang Phu City, Anhui Province, sentenced the organ harvesting gang to 11 patients between 2017 and 2018 to 10 to 28 months in prison.

The verdict was issued in July and the appeal was denied a month later, but the details of the case were only recently revealed by Shi Xianglin, the son of one of the victims.

Yang approached the patient’s relatives and persuaded them to agree to donate organs, then sent the test results to his accomplice in Nanjing. After finding the right “candidate”, these doctors traveled from Nanjing to Hoai Vien to ask the victim’s family to sign what they believed to be a legal organ donation contract.

The dead patients are then hastily operated on in a delivery truck disguised as an ambulance and without the presence of the Chinese Red Cross (RCSC) staff or the patient’s relatives. according to the regulations of the Law.

Citing court records, Thepaper.cn said Huang Xinli, former director of organ harvesting at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, performed 10 of the 11 organ harvesting operations. Another doctor, Lu Sen, who is also an organ collector at Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, is responsible for the rest of the work.

Huang is supported by Wang Hailiang, a doctor who worked at the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from 2015 to 2018, where he served as the organ harvesting liaison officer.

Two accomplices, including Huang Chaoyang, organ delivery assistant, and driver Ou Yang, were also sentenced to prison on the same charges. The aforementioned doctors were also found to have bypassed the official authorization system and falsified medical records. The crime line was dismantled in April 2018 when Mr. Shi, who was in a coma with Li Ping’s mother in the car accident, filed a complaint.

Shi’s father and sister were tricked into signing an organ donation consent, while another relative received 200,000 yuan as a “subsidy” for the donation.
