Dzhambulat Khatokhov began to make himself known in the world media when he was only 3 years old, when the boy was considered the strongest and heaviest child on the planet, weighing up to 48 kg. When he was 6 years old, Khatokhov weighed 95 kg and wore men’s size 10 shoes.
At the age of 9, the boy was nicknamed Gladiator by his schoolmates with a weight of 147 kg, equivalent to 4 children of the same age combined. Khatokhov’s mother revealed that at birth, the boy weighed only 2.9 kg like normal babies, but on his first birthday Khatokhov weighed more than 12 kg.

Recently, the Russian media repeatedly reported that Khatokhov had passed away at the age of 21. The cause of death of this fighter was not disclosed, but secondary information said that Khatokhov had acute kidney failure.
Khatokhov’s death was announced by Betal Gubzhev, president of the Mass Wrestling Federation and Sumo of the Kabardino-Balkaria region, where he lived.
Betal wrote on his Instagram page: “The first sumo wrestler of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Dzhambulat Khatokhov, has passed away. My condolences to his family and friends.
In 2009, British doctor Ian Campbell, after a visit, issued a warning about Dzhambulat’s health: “The boy’s health was very bad. The weight puts Khatokhov at risk for diabetes, cancer and heart disease. The life expectancy of the child could be considerably reduced. “
Khatokhov’s mother also took him to the hospital, but doctors could not find any disease that made him grow faster than usual. And he also denied that his son uses drugs to become “the strongest child in the world.”
