On the afternoon of November 17, Mr. Tran Duy Dung, Chairman of the Nam Tra My District People’s Committee (Quang Nam Province), said that landslides continued to occur in the District from National Highway 40B across the village territory 3 (commune). Tea Don).
Consequently, around 11 noon on the same day, Mr. Ho Van Hieng (who lives in the locality) was riding a motorcycle on Highway 40B, passing through Tra Don commune, when suddenly the mountain collapsed. Mr. Hieng quickly threw the car and ran away, escaping death, however, injuring his hand. Hieng’s motorcycle was buried in rock and ground.
Worryingly, this landslide happened when the rain in Nam Tra My district stopped raining in the last 2 days, on November 17 it was still sunny in Tra Don.
Sunny but landslide still occurs on Highway 40B
After the landslide occurred, the highway handling unit sent 2 dump trucks, 2 excavators, 4 trucks to the highway. It is expected that around 5:00 p.m. on 11/17, new vehicles will be able to return to normal on this route.
Previously, on 11-11, on highway 40B, a section that passes through the commune of Tra Tan (Bac Tra My district), a landslide occurred on a mountain that caused the burial of 3 people, 1 serious injuries. On November 28, a series of landslides occurred in Nam Tra My District, Bac Tra My, Phuoc Son, Quang Nam Province, leaving dozens of people buried and 17 are still missing.
