Before Typhoon No. 13 was hit, troops and people from Con Co Island (Quang Tri) moved into the tunnel to avoid storms.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Thoai – Politician from Con Co Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) said: “The storm was so big that most of the troops and people had to go to the basement to avoid it. Except for the number of cadres that are sent to stay in the unit to perform tasks, ensure security and order, ”said Lt. Col. Nguyen Duy Thoai.
The army and people are expected to remain in the storm shelter on Con Co Island tonight, tomorrow, depending on the weather situation to calculate the time to exit the tunnel. Before sending people to the storm shelter, food and meal were prepared.
