Braithwaite’s announcement comes as the navies of the US, India, Japan and Australia conduct major exercises in the Indian Ocean.

These four countries are members of the “Diamond Quartet” group. China has long been concerned that the “Quartet” group will form a “miniature NATO in the Indo-Pacific.”

According to Braithwaite, the impending US naval force can be called First Fleet.

The United States is considering with some allies, such as Singapore and India, finding a suitable location for the 1st Fleet.

Mr. Braithwaite stated that the plan to establish the 1st Fleet is almost complete.

According to Braithwaite, the United States should not deal only with Chinese naval forces in the Pacific, but needs a lot of support from its allies.

“We cannot just trust the Seventh Fleet in Japan. We need partners and allies like Singapore and India to find the right place to locate Fleet 1. The new force will help the United States build a formidable deterrent against opponents. We want to put the new fleet at the intersection between the Indian and Pacific oceans, ”said Mr. Braithwaite.

“Recently, I took a trip to Asia. All of our allies are concerned about China’s aggression. A specialized force will help contain China effectively, ”said Braithwaite.

Currently, the United States considers China to be a leading competitor in terms of global economic and military position.

According to Drive, the establishment of the 1st Fleet will be a top priority for the US military in the near future.

The increased military presence in the Indo-Pacific helps the United States confidently meet China’s growing challenge and reassures key allies in Asia.
