Manchester United midfielder James Garner joined Watford on a one-season loan deal.

Through this move, the Red Devils also hope that their partners will release the Ismaila Sarr pillar for them.

James Garner has long emerged as the “pearl in the rough” in Manchester United’s youth teams. The 19-year-old made his debut for the Red Devils first team in the 2018-19 season when he came off the bench against Crystal Palace. So far, he has 6 appearances for MU.

Earlier this week, Garner received the U23 MU Team Player of the Season award. But with limited opportunities in the first team, he is currently on loan to Watford to continue his growth.

Several other clubs, including Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday, have been interested in borrowing from Garner, but Watford is the destination. This weekend, the English midfielder will be able to immediately play against Sheffield Wednesday in the First Division.

Garner will wear jersey number 16 while on loan at Watford. He will try to find opportunities to play regularly, which is not possible in MU. This deal is also an opportunity for the Red Devils to form a good relationship with Watford.

The Independent reported that MU is considering signing the contract with Watford’s Ismaila Sarr. This is an alternative to Jadon Sancho, costing up to £ 108 million, beating the Red Devils’ affordability during a period of financial decline.

Garner is the next name for MU’s youth team going on summer loan. Tahith Chong is impressing at Werder Bremen, while Matej Kovar has made three appearances at Swindon Town.

Dylan Levitt made his debut for Charlton in a 3-0 loss to West Ham in the Carabao Cup a few days ago. Meanwhile, Joel Pereira was on the Huddersfield bench when they lost to Norwich in the First Division.
