Ivanka Trump posted a message on Twitter on March 3, expressing anger at being unreasonably sued. His daughter said the lawsuit was an act of “politically motivated retaliation.”

Ivanka also posted a screenshot of the email that she claimed was proof that she and her family were completely innocent. According to Ivanka Trump, she spent 5 hours being questioned at the Attorney General’s Office in Washington DC

She was questioned about the excessive fees her family’s Trump hotel imposed during Trump’s inauguration.

“I showed you the email I sent four years ago asking the hotel to charge the correct market price and the hotel did. This lawsuit is another politically motivated act of retaliation, ”Trump’s daughter wrote.

Ivanka’s comments came after Washington DC Attorney General Karl Racine accused the Trump family of obtaining personal benefits from the inauguration in 2017, after Trump was elected president.

The Washington DC Office of the Attorney General sued the Trump Group for charging too high rates for using the Trump hotel. The hotel is the venue for Mr. Trump’s inauguration events.

According to the lawsuit, a tax-exempt non-profit organization partnered with the Trump family and overspent the event at the Trump Hotel. The organization spent more than $ 300,000 to host a private reception at Trump’s hotel for his three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, during the presidential inauguration on January 20, 2017.

“District of Columbia law provides that nonprofit organizations can only be used for public purposes and not for the benefit of private individuals or businesses,” Racine previously said.

Racine’s lawsuit is aimed at recovering a million dollars that is believed to go directly to the Trump family business.

“Ms. Ivanka instructed the hotel to charge the market rate and the hotel does exactly that,” Alan Garten, the Trump Group’s legal counsel, said in an interview on CNN.
