On the afternoon of August 18 to August 29, the patient returned from the hospital to stay home. On September 5, the patient had a fever and cough, so she went to the emergency room of Da Nang Hospital C, and Hospital C took a sample from the patient to test for COVID-19, on the morning of September 6. On the morning of September 6, Hospital C continued to transfer the samples collected at 7:30 p.m. on September 5 to the City Center for Disease Control (CDC) for analysis, the test results were positive. The patient was transferred to Hoa Vang Hospital.
On September 6, the Hoa Vang BV technician (at 0845) and the CDC technician (at 9:00) took a new sample from the patient for testing, the test results of both samples were negative for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR method.
On the afternoon of September 6, samples continued to be collected from patients for antibody testing using the rapid test method and the Mac Elisa method, and the results were positive for antibodies (meaning that the patient’s body was previously infected with the SARS virus). The son-in-law and the two grandsons from the same household rarely interact with the patient.
The results of the antigen test using the RT-PCR method of 6 family members, the sister-in-law of 1 patient, and 3 other related individuals were negative for SARS-CoV-2.
