“Saigon Vietnam Beer” – the type of product that allegedly infringes on the property of the Saigon Beer Group Limited Company signed a cooperation contract for the production and sale of goods with the BiVa Beer Production Plant (Ba Ria – Vung Tau). This company has a similar name to the Sabeco beer brand, led by Mr. Le Dinh Trung as CEO and also as legal representative. Mr. Trung used to be an assistant to a Sabeco deputy general manager (retired) before serving as head of the legal department and many other positions many years ago.

Not only that, Ms. Tran Thi Ai Loan, who was recently replaced as legal representative on behalf of Mr. Trung at Saigon Vietnam Beer Group Company, was also a major distribution agent for Sabeco for 4 years. The company’s business report shows that total sales in 4 years (2017-2020) of Ms. Loan’s product sales business to Sabeco amounted to almost VND 3 billion.

Ms. Loan is the person who signed the goods production and sale contract with Mr. Vu Tuan Chau, owner of BIVA brewery to produce beer under the brand name “Saigon Vietnam Beer” as general manager and launch. to the market from May 2020.

The National Company Registration Information System states that the head office address of this company, when it was first established, was located on the 9th floor, Vincom building, 72 Le Thanh Ton (District 1). Meanwhile, the Vincom building, 72 Le Thanh Ton (District 1) is also the address chosen by Sabeco to locate its main office for many years.

The head office was later changed and moved to No Trang Long (Binh Thanh), but on the packaging of the product “Saigon Vietnam Beer”, the address remains on the 9th floor, Vincom Building, 72 Le Thanh Ton (District 1) . ) even more confusing for consumers.

Besides Vietnam Saigon Beer, Ms. Loan also owns 2 more companies, namely Saigon Ai Quoc Beer Company Limited and Ai Loan Trading Service Co., Ltd. with registered addresses in Dak Nong and Ho Chi Minh City.

In May, Sabeco discovered that “Saigon Vietnam Beer” has the same design and logo as “Saigon Beer”, so Aliat Legal Company, a unit authorized by the Sabeco Board of Directors, sent the product sample to the Institute of Science. Own Intellectual Property (Institute) for their experience. The conclusion of the institute’s inspection on June 19 confirmed that all the signs on cans and boxes printed with the words “Saigon Vietnam Beer”, “vertical shield shape”, “dragon shape” showed a property infringement. wisdom.

From here, Sabeco proposed to join the Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria Vung Tau Market Management Department. On June 23, the authorities checked and discovered that the private company Ho Ngoc (Dong Xoai, Binh Phuoc) was storing 605 beer barrels with Saigon Vietnam beer containers. This unit explained that it was a consignment kept on behalf of the Ty Hon Business household, the unit in which Saigon Beer Vietnam sold 1,300 barrels of beer at the price of 159,300 VND per barrel.

On the same day, 4,712 barrels of “Saigon Vietnam Beer”, 116,700 cans of beer, were also finished at the Biva brewery in Bac 2 village, Hoa Long commune (Ba Ria city, Ba Ria province – Vung Tau). (330 ml type) and 3,300 cases of beer (cartons) show signs of infringement of the protected registered trademarks of Sabeco.

Mr. Vu Tuan Chau – owner of the Biva establishment – confessed to the market manager that he had sent 2,200 barrels of this finished beer twice, each time. They manufacture products based on legal documents provided by Saigon Beer and do not know the cooperation to create products that infringe the industrial property rights on the protected trademarks of Sabeco.

According to the authorities, products that infringe the trademark rights of Sabeco are produced and distributed not only in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, but also in Dak Lak, Soc Trang, Can Tho. .. in great quantities. This has directly caused huge losses in terms of revenue for Sabeco.

Talk to VnExpressThe leaders of Sabeco said that the previous incident caused great damage to the reputation and brand of the company. Not only that, consumers are also affected by purchasing the above confusing products. Sabeco has been working closely with the investigative agency to clarify the case and protect brands and consumers.
