US President Donald Trump was transported to Walter Reed National Army Medical Center in Maryland, near Washington, on the night of October 2 (US time) after contracting COVID-19. Newspaper Washington Post Citing two sources familiar with the matter, Trump was said to have a mild fever, cough and a stuffy nose.
According to the newspaper Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) of the US, Walter Reed National Army Medical Center merged from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Walter Reed Naval Medical Center in 2011 under the direction of the US Congress.
This hospital is named after a famous doctor Walter Reed (1851-1902) served in the US Army. He was the principal investigator to discover yellow fever caused by mosquitoes.
Newspaper USA Today Call it “the hospital for presidents, war heroes, and supreme court judges.” Since its opening in 1909, this hospital has served many presidents, serving members of the United States Congress and the United States Supreme Court.
During the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, hospital Walter Reed treated many wounded soldiers and was removed from the battlefield.

President Trump appeared at the hospital Walter Reed and wore a mask when he visited soldiers treated there in July. In 2018, the first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, was treated at the hospital for kidney problems.
This military hospital has around 7,000 employees, including some of the best doctors in America. President Trump will be in the special area eKnown as “Area 71”.
This area has 6 special rooms for senior military officers and members of the cabinet of the President of the United States. One of these six rooms is the presidential suite.
According to the newspaper Daily mailWalter Reed Military Hospital, located about 14km from the White House, has a total of 244 beds and 50 beds for intensive care (ICU).
Rear Admiral Connie Mariano, who previously served as a doctor to Presidents George HW Bush and Bill Clinton and director of the White House Medical Unit, said the presidential room office is equipped with security liaison and protective gear to help the American leader.
