People who enter Vietnam in concentrated isolation in military establishments have to pay VND 80,000 for meals and VND 40,000 for daily living expenses.
On September 17, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc accepted the Finance Ministry’s proposal to charge concentrated medical isolation fees from people entering Vietnam.
In the event that a person who enters Vietnam wants to isolate himself in hotels, tourist complexes, etc., he must pay the expenses of food, accommodation and maintenance of the aforementioned establishments; prices are determined by these establishments.
The Prime Minister asked all foreigners entering Vietnam to purchase international medical insurance with the scope of payment for medical examination and treatment in Vietnam according to the length of stay; you must comply with the Covid-19 test order and pay on your own.
For the Vietnamese, the state budget will cover the cost of the Covid-19 examination and treatment, according to the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Act. In the case of foreigners, the Government will submit to the consideration of the National Assembly and will be amended according to reality.
Regarding the cost of the examination and treatment of other diseases during concentrated medical isolation, people with health insurance will be paid by health insurance agencies, organizations or companies within the scope of enjoyment; Individuals pay their own expenses outside the scope of health insurance coverage.
People without health insurance pay the full cost of the medical examination and treatment at the price set by the competent authority.
The above provisions apply to people entering Vietnam as of September 1.
The Infectious Disease Control Law applies to domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals in Vietnam.
Clause 2 of article 48 of this Law establishes that people suffering from group A diseases have the right to free examination and treatment. Covid-19 is a group A infectious disease.
